Morning Tiles of Richmond.

Photographer based in Melbourne, Australia — focusing on architecture, lifestyle, and everyday urban details through analogue and digital photography.

I’ve just passed the one-year mark living in the suburb of Richmond, Melbourne, Australia where I usually go for a walk or a run in the early mornings.

It wasn’t until recently that I started noticing the tiles at street level—those at the entrances of some shops along Bridge Road. In the morning, they come to life, catching the first light of the sun.

I’ve become a bit obsessed with their patterns and textures, which I find absolutely fascinating. That’s why I decided to shoot this series with my analogue camera, a Canon A-1, using 35mm film.

One thing that also caught my eye was how some corners are worn down—stained and crumbling slightly—from the dogs that stop to pee there on their daily walks.
